Timotheus Walker Arrested after Hitting Ryan Buckner in Folsom Boulevard Crash
Sacramento, CA (April 9, 2021) – Ryan Buckner was left in a coma after being struck by a car thief on Folsom Boulevard.
A few weeks ago, a 27-year-old Ryan Buckner stopped at a Mobil gas station on Folsom Boulevard. Then, Buckner reportedly parked his car outside a minimart before going in to make a purchase, leaving his car running.
According to his brother, Blake McKernan, a professional boxer, it was that time when the thief took an opportunity to steal Buckner’s car. However, Buckner immediately jumped in front of the car in an attempt to prevent the thief from getting away.
The suspect identified as Timotheus Walker, 18, hit Buckner. As a result, the crash sent Buckner flying into the air before landing on his head.
McKernan said that the incident left his brother in a coma at UC Davis Medical Center.
“This isn’t about me. This is about me in a sense where I’m trying to utilize a platform that I’ve been able to create and make for myself and better my life and my career, and now I’m trying to use my platform not for myself but for my family,” McKernan said. “A lot of times in life people always want to ask when bad things happen, ‘God, why is this happening to me? Why now?’ Some things aren’t always meant to be understood. There’s a lot of things in life that we may have prayed or asked God for, not understanding when they were going to come and the whole time not understanding God was only preparing us for where he was trying to accel us to.”
