4 People Hurt in Beverly Hills Auto Accident on South Beverly Drive near Olympic Boulevard
BEVERLY HILLS, CA (November 17, 2024) – Thursday, Russell Stuart and three other people sustained injuries in a carjacking crash on South Beverly Drive.
The incident happened at around 7:05 on South Beverly Drive near Olympic Boulevard.
According to reports, a man stole a BMW X3 SUV on the 400 block of North Bedford Drive and struck pedestrians on the 200 block of South Beverly Drive.
Moreover, responders transported four people, including a likely incoming Beverly Hills School Board member, identified as Stuart, to a hospital with unknown injuries. Also, responders transported another man, a woman, and a boy to hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
Furthermore, officers arrested the suspect, identified as 22-year-old James Portul, on suspicion of carjacking and hit-and-run with injury.
The events leading to the crash remain unclear at this time. The public will be notified when additional information becomes available.
Due to limited information, the authorities continued investigating the crash.
