Ruben Garcia of Fresno Killed in Central Avenue Pedestrian Accident [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (June 14, 2023) – On Tuesday morning, 20-year-old Ruben Garcia of Fresno sustained fatal injuries following a Central Avenue pedestrian accident.

The fatal traffic collision took place at about 3:00 a.m. near Chestnut Avenue, wherein two young men ran across the road directly in front of a pickup truck. The driver tried to avoid them but was unable to and struck one of them.

Responding firefighters located Garcia still under the truck.

The rescuers tried to lift the truck to get him out but found out that he already succumbed to his injuries.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

In the meantime, the authorities are still investigating the accident and as to why the two were running across the street. They do not consider drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the Fresno County fatal collision.
