Roy Schutte Killed in Head-On Crash on US Route 61 [Quincy, MO]

Quincy, MO (September 10, 2024) – 95-year-old Roy Schutte was killed in a vehicle collision on US Route 61 Monday morning.

It was about 10 a.m. when the deadly crash happened on the southbound highway.

Troopers said Roy Schutte was driving north in the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by a a 42-year-old woman head-on.

The 42-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators said Schutte and the female driver were both wearing seat belts during the collision.

Meanwhile, traffic officers diverted all southbound traffic over the ramps at the Route P interchange.
