DONNA, TX (December 26, 2023) – On Christmas Day, Rosio Cabeza De Vaca died in a horrific hit-and-run crash on 3700 Business 83 and Midway Road.

The incident happened at 6:49 p.m. on the 3700 block of Business 83 and Midway Road.

Reports revealed that 36-year-old Ricardo Martinez was driving east in a gray Dodge Nitro. However, he crashed with 46-year-old De Vaca, driving a black Mazda car.

Afterward, Martinez escaped the scene before officers arrived. Meanwhile, the impact of the crash led to the death of the Mazda car driver.

Moreover, the passenger with Martinez during the crash is in custody and has been cooperative with the investigation.
