Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 65 Killed Roseville Man
Lincoln, CA (September 25, 2020) – On Monday, a 24-year-old Roseville man died in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 65.
The crash took place at around 10:15 p.m. near Sheridan. The CHP Auburn office said a pickup truck ran a red light before crashing with two vehicles and a pole.
The paramedics pronounced the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driver dead at the scene. Though, the Placer County Coroner’s Office withheld the deceased’s identity.
Moreover, the rescue team rushed two occupants of one of another involved vehicle, a 2006 Jeep, to a hospital for incurring minor injuries.
Meanwhile, two others in the third vehicle, a 2017 Ford, also sustained minor injuries but refused medical aid.
Both the Ford and the Jeep were making left turns from southbound Highway 65 onto westbound Riosa Road just before the crash. They both used the two turn lanes on a green light, the CHP collision report said based on those witness statements.
The Chevrolet pickup truck, heading northbound on the highway, failed to stop at a red light and struck both vehicles at an unknown speed before it “careened out of control and came to rest after striking a traffic light pole,” the news release said.
Furthermore, the authorities continue to investigate the crash. Also, it is unknown whether the Chevy driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
CHP’s collision report said all involved parties were wearing seat belts.
