3 Hurt in Glen County Car Accident
GLENN COUNTY, CA (April 24, 2019) – Three people suffered injuries in a car collision on County Road 39 in Glenn County on April 17.
At about 7:20 a.m., the authorities together with an ambulance came to respond to a collision with an ambulance on County Road 39 and County Road V.
Upon their arrival, CHP found the involved drivers, a 16-year-old boy from Hamilton City, and a 17-year-old girl from Durham.
Reports revealed that the 16-year-old drover north in his Ford Mustang on County Road V. He then stopped at a stop sign on CR-39 intersection. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old traveling west in a BMW 5501 on CR-39 approached the intersection.
The male teenager drove into the intersection as he tried to continue heading north. Unfortunately, he didn’t yield to traffic on CR-39. When the girl came to the intersection, she turned right and applied her breaks to avoid a crash. However, BMW’s front crashed with the Mustang’s right side.
The Mustang then crashed into an irrigation ditch off the northwest side of the intersection. Meanwhile, the BMW landed on the west shoulder of CR-V, just north of CR-39.
The 16-year-old didn’t suffer injuries. Unfortunately, his 14-year-old male passenger suffered major injuries to his right shoulder and went to Enloe Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old girl sustained minor injuries including COP to the nose, abrasions to the left clavicle and neck area. Her 50-year-old passenger, Rosalia Flores, also sustained minor injuries including abrasions to the right clavicle and neck area.
Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.
