1 Person Hospitalized in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on UTSA Boulevard

SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 31, 2023) – Sunday morning, Rosa Maria Mendez sustained injuries in a crippling DUI crash on UTSA Boulevard.

The incident happened at around 2:42 a.m. at the 6200 block of UTSA Boulevard.

According to the San Antonio police, a westbound Nissan Sentra struck the back of a Mazda for still unknown reasons. Then, the Nissan pinned the female driver of the Mazda who was changing the tire of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Moreover, responders transported the victim, 30-year-old Mendez, to a hospital with serious injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested the Nissan driver on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
