Ronnie Estrella Dies in Valencia TUSD School Bus Crash
Tucson, AZ (August 11, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a 34-year-old Ronnie Estrella died in a crash with a TUSD school bus on Valencia.
The fatal crash in Tucson happened on August 11.
According to PCSD, a sedan was traveling along with Valencia when it swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid rear-ending a stopped car.
Moreover, the sedan hit the bus. The bus then crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a pickup truck.
No children were on the bus. EMS took the bus driver to the hospital as a precaution.
However, Estrella, the pickup truck driver died at the scene.
Drexel Heights Fire said Lifenet was requested to transport injured patients to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the sedan driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials.
Investigators said speed and impairment were not factors in the crash.
Further investigation is ongoing.
