Ronald Richard Rangel Sr Killed in ATV Accident on Sheep Creek Road [Phelan, CA]

55-Year-Old Victorville Man Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Joshua Street

 
PHELAN, CA (November 3, 2018) – On Friday evening, a man was killed in an ATV accident on Sheep Creek Road. The deceased victim was later identified as 55-year-old Ronald Richard Rangel Sr of Victorville.
 
California Highway Patrol stated that the fatal crash happened at about 6:45 PM on Sheep Creek Rd near Joshua Street.
 
Rangel was riding his 2003 Honda ATV southbound on Sheep Creek when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into the northbound lane, directly into the path of a 2000 Toyota Tundra.
 
The front of the Tundra collided into the right side of the Honda ATV, causing Rangel to be ejected from his vehicle.
 
According to authorities, Good Samaritans at the scene stopped to help and performed CPR until emergency crews arrived. The victim was then taken via ambulance to Victor Global Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota, a 64-year-old Phelan man, was not injured. He remained on site and cooperated with officers during the investigation. Alcohol may have been the factor in this accident, but the cause remains under investigation at this time.
