Ronald Dickerson of Santa Maria Dies in Highway 101 Collision [Orcutt, CA]

Orcutt, CA (May 24, 2024) – 80-year-old Ronald Dickerson of Santa Maria was killed following a Highway 101 collision Wednesday at noon.

It was about 12:15 p.m. when the deadly crash happened on the southbound freeway at Union Valley Parkway.

Investigators said Dickerson was driving a Honda Civic when he failed to slow down at stopped traffic and rear-ended a Dodge Durango.

Moreover, the force of the collision pushed the Durango into a pickup truck.

The drivers and passengers in the Durango and pickup incurred minor injuries.

Dickerson was taken to the hospital where he died.

Troopers are investigating this collision.
