Panorama City Man Dies when His Semi Truck Overturns at Fairway Drive and Center School Road
CAMARILLO, CA (July 11, 2019) – A man was killed when his semi truck overturned Thursday evening in Camarillo, authorities said.
The crash happened a little before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Fairway Drive and Center School Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 2012 Peterbilt Truck was towing another semi-truck northbound on Fairway Drive, when the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The truck then overturned down an embankment into a nearby golf course.
The driver, 31-year-old Romeo Marquez of Panorama City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second patient declined to be taken to a hospital.
Images from the scene showed a badly damaged big rig.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
