1 Person Dies After Rollover Crash on US 62/180 in El Paso

El Paso, TX (July 12, 2024) – A person died in a rollover crash on 62/180 involving a tanker truck on Friday, July 12, near the Hudspeth County line.

The crash occurred at Mile Marker 50 along US 62/180, where a male victim died at the scene. 

The tanker truck was carrying diesel at the time of the accident. US 62/180 has been reduced to two lanes due to the crash.

The El Paso Fire Department is assisting the Montana Vista Fire Department with the fuel spill, which involved the release of 9,000 gallons of fuel. 

Responding to the scene were the Montana Vista Fire Department, the Desert Haven Fire Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Hudspeth County officials, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
