CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (March 1, 2023) – Tuesday morning, two drivers suffered injuries in a rollover crash on Landau Boulevard and Ramon Road.
 
The incident involving two cars happened at about 9:30 a.m. on Landau Boulevard and Ramon Road.
 
After the crash, responders transported both drivers to the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, firefighters confirmed that the crash knocked down a cable causing a power outage in the area. Edison also responded at the scene to restore the power.
 
Moreover, officers revealed that the crash involved an electric vehicle.
 
“Electric vehicles do present a little bit of a challenge but we have recently taken some classes on how to manage them. Because of the significant amount of batteries and the high voltage of these vehicles. We’re trained to know exactly where to cut wire to make the cars safe,” said Battalion Chief Craig Samborn of the Cathedral city Fire Department.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
