SAN DIEGO, CA (March 27, 2024) – Tuesday night, a devastating rollover crash on 18000 San Pasqual Valley Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 11:20 p.m. when a man drove a gray 1999 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on 18000 San Pasqual Valley Road.

Then, the driver of the Silverado truck failed to stay on the road’s curve, crossed over into the opposite lane, and crashed down a 50-foot embankment into a citrus orchard, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).

However, a 47-year-old man who was a passenger in the Silverado was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers confirmed that the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, SDPD’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation into this fatal collision.
