2 People Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 17 and Thomas Road
Phoenix, AZ (September 4, 2021) – A rollover crash on Interstate 17 and Thomas Road involving two vehicles left two people hospitalized on Friday afternoon.
According to Phoenix Fire Capt. Frank Keller, the incident happened on September 3 on Interstate 17 and Thomas Road.
At about 3:30 p.m., emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles involved in the collision. Due to the impact of the collision, one of the vehicles rolled over but was back on its wheels when officers arrived. Occupants of the vehicle did not need extrication.
Due to the lack of details, it is unclear what events led up to the incident. However, Keller confirmed that the crash left two people injured. Medics transported an adult to St. Joseph’s emergency room and an elderly woman to St. Joseph’s trauma center.
Furthermore, authorities evaluated two other people at the scene but they both refused treatment and transportation.
The victims’ identifications are still unknown. Moreover, there has been no information regarding their current conditions.
