Rolando Sanchez Detained after Santa Barbara Car Crash
SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 21, 2020) – Authorities arrested a driver after a DUI car crash on Bath Street on February 18.
The police arrested the motorist on suspicion of drunken driving after he crashed his car while exiting the freeway in downtown Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara Police Department revealed.
Emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Bath Street around 11:30 p.m., after receiving a report of a rollover crash.
When the personnel came, they located a Ford Mustang that had clipped a car and rolled over.
According to reports, some residents nearby assisted the injured motorist out of his overturned vehicle before medics arrived.
36-year-old Rolando Sanchez of Santa Barbara received treatment from the medical responders at the scene. An AMR ambulance then transported Sanchez to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Sanchez was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI. His condition remains unreleased as of this time.
The collision led to the closure of Bath Street northbound offramp from Highway 101 for around an hour. However, the roadway has since reopened.
The authorities are still investigating the collision.
