Diego Hernandez Involved in Palmdale Pedestrian Accident
Palmdale, CA (May 07, 2022) – On Thursday, Rolando Navarro, 44, of Lancaster, died in a 14 Freeway accident involving Diego Hernandez, 38, of Palmdale.
The fatal accident took place at around 4:55 a.m., south of Palmdale Boulevard.
The fatal collision happened around 4:55 a.m. Thursday, May 5, on SR-14, just south of Palmdale Boulevard, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
Navarro was standing in the center divider of the southbound freeway and started to cross the traffic lanes in an easterly direction.
Unfortunately, a southbound 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by Hernandez in the number 3 lane struck Navarro at 65 miles per hour.
Navarro lost his life at the scene while Hernandez did not sustain injuries in the accident.
Hernandez drove a short distance ahead and called 911.
“The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs is unknown at this time and is still under investigation,” the CHP says.
