Two Horses Killed, Riders Injured, and Rolando Garcia Arrested after Lake View Terrace Hit-and-Run Accident
LAKE VIEW TERRACE, CA (October 28, 2019) — Officers arrested Rolando Garcia after he struck two horses and riders on Friday, October 25.
The accident happened near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Wheatland Avenue around 9:40 p.m.
Paramedics responded to the crash site and found two riders in critical condition. They later transported both to a local hospital, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange stated.
Both horses died at the scene as a result of the impact.
The driver of the van, 32-year-old Garcia, allegedly left the scene on foot. Police later arrested him around 5:00 a.m., on Saturday.
Garcia was eventually booked on a charge of felony hit-and-run. Authorities held him on a $50,000 bail, police said.
