Clovis Man Dies in Lebec Crash on 5 Freeway at Grapevine Road

 
LEBEC, CA (April 28, 2019) – A man was killed following a rollover crash late Sunday afternoon in Lebec, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported.
 
To begin, the crash happened around 5:27 a.m., on northbound 5 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived just South of Grapevine Road soon after.
 
According to reports, an unidentified vehicle struck the center divider and consequently overturned on its roof. The driver, identified as 47-year-old Rohitesh Raj of Clovis, was pronounced dead on scene due to the impact of the collision.
 
An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause and manner of death. More details will eventually be released once available.
 
Furthermore, the surrounding area was closed for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene. They have since reopened to traffic.
