David Bunch Involved in Strathmore Crash Injuring Roger Rea
Strathmore, CA (August 18, 2021) – On Wednesday, 37-year-old Roger Rea of Visalia, suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Avenue 196, involving 62-year-old David Bunch, also of Visalia.
The pedestrian crash took place at about 8:55 p.m., east of Orange Belt Drive.
Investigating officers said Rea was standing on the north shoulder of the roadway. At the same time, Bunch was driving a 2016 Ford F-350 westbound on the Number 1 lane at 35 mph.
For reasons still being investigated, Rea ran across Avenue 196 in a southerly direction, outside a marked crosswalk. He went directly into the path of Bunch.
Bunch applied the vehicle’s brakes but still hit Rea, who was launched forward and rested upon the roadway.
Immediately, emergency rescuers took Rea via ground ambulance to Kaweah Health Medical Center with major injuries.
Officers said Rea was alert and responsive at the scene of the traffic accident. They are still investigating the incident.
