3 Dead in Boerne Auto Accident on State Highway 46 near Diamond Ridge

BOERNE, TX (October 31, 2024) – Last Tuesday, Roger Louis Waid and 2 others died in a crash on State Highway 46.

The incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on State Highway 46 West near Diamond Ridge.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers reported that a Ford F-250 Super Duty collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla, resulting in the deaths of all three occupants in the Corolla.

The victims were identified by Texas DPS as 50-year-old Roger Louis Waid, 53-year-old Patricia Ann Waid, and 14-year-old Blake Lynn Waid, all from Pipe Creek. The 58-year-old driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature.

The highway was closed for several hours for investigation and cleanup but has since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the Cleburne Police Department is investigating the incident.
