Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV on Highway 63 in Adair County
Kirksville, MO (November 12, 2024) On Monday morning, 53-year-old Rodney Machler of Greentop, was killed after a tragic auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 63.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal incident happened around 4:45 a.m. on Highway 63, about one mile south of Sublette.
Reports say that an SUV fatally struck a pedestrian on Highway 63.
Authorities identified Machler as the victim and was pronounced dead at the scene.
MSHP reported that a 51-year-old man from Kirksville was driving the northbound SUV involved in the incident. While Machler was in the roadway at the time of the crash, the reason for his presence there remains unknown.
A family member revealed that Machler had his dog with him, but the pet was unharmed. State troopers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
