Roberto Rubio of Plainview Killed in Truck Crash on FM 829 [Martin County, TX]

Driver Dies in Martin County Collision

Martin County, TX (May 22, 2024) – 41-year-old Roberto Rubio of Plainview was killed following a vehicle crash on FM 829 early Monday morning.

It was about 5:40 a.m. when the fatal crash happened at the intersection with CR 3400.

Troopers said a 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Rubio was southbound on FM 829 and a 2014 International truck with a trailer driven by 26-year-old Devontrell Rimmer of Kosciusko, Mississippi, was eastbound on CR 3400.

Investigating officers said Rimmer failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with Rubio.

Sadly, Rubio was declared deceased at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
