Roberto Ledesma III and Lillian Leal Killed in Crash on Highway 70 [Yuba County, CA]

Marysville Man and Linda Woman Identified as Victims Killed in Truck Collision near Ramirez Road

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (January 30, 2019) – A man and a woman were killed late Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle crash near Ramirez Road. The victims were later identified as 33-year-old Roberto Ledesma III of Marysville and 37-year-old Lillian Leal of Linda.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 11:20 AM. A Honda Civic, driven by Ledesma, drifted directly into the path of an oncoming truck due to unknown circumstances.
 
The truck could not avoid the collision and struck the passenger side of the Honda. The impact ejected Ledesma, who was not secured in a seatbelt, from their vehicle.
 
Ledesma and Leal both suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A third occupant, a 21-year-old Marysville man, was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The driver of the truck also sustained major injuries and was hospitalized for treatment. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately provided.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
