Motorcyclist Robert Soares Dead in Cloverdale Accident on Highway 101
CLOVERDALE, CA (August 4, 2020) – Early Saturday afternoon, motorcyclist Robert Soares, of Lakeport, died in a car and motorcycle crash on Highway 101.
The incident happened about 1:18 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, north of Dutcher Creek Road.
According to CHP Officer David deRutte, a male motorcyclist collided with 51-year-old Scott Stanton, who was driving a Volvo.
Reports revealed that the deceased man rode a Kawasaki motorcycle in the same direction behind the Volvo.
Soon after, the Volvo drifted onto the right shoulder and struck a guardrail. Then, it steered back across both lanes of traffic. Unfortunately, Mr. Soares couldn’t stop in time and collided into the back of the swerving Volvo.
As a result, the motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Moreover, DeRutte added that speed, alcohol or drugs weren’t factors in the crash.
With heavy hearts, we at Sweet Lawyers send our thoughts and prayers to the family and community of Robert Soares.
