Robert Romero Jr. Detained, 5 Hospitalized in Fresno DUI Accident
FRESNO, CA (July 17, 2019) – Police arrested a man following a DUI crash that hospitalized five people Wednesday night in Fresno County.
The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. near Lincoln and Minnewawa avenues. According to the CHP, Robert Romero Jr., 27, was driving a white Subaru southbound in the northbound lane when he collided head-on with a silver Honda.
Three women inside the Honda were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, two of them suffered major injuries.
Romero and his passenger were also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Officers administered a breathalyzer test on Romero and determined he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They arrested Romero on suspicion of DUI.
Investigation of this incident is still ongoing.
