Two Elderly People Dead in SUV Accident on 43800 Block of 20th Street
LANCASTER, CA (April 20, 2018) – Two elderly people died in a collision involving an SUV, on the 43800 block of 20th street, on Friday evening.
The deceased victims were identified on Sunday by the coroner’s Lt Brian Kim, as 84-year-old Robert Martin and 81-year-old Ramona Martin, both residents of Lancaster.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 7:30 PM. The Martins were traveling in a sedan on 20th when they began to turn into the Rancho Mirage Mobile Home Park, and were struck by an SUV.
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene, and pronounced both Robert and Ramona dead on site. There were no other injuries reported in the collision, and the identity of the second driver has not yet been released.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No additional information has been disclosed at this time.
