Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Big Rig Near Santa Fe Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (September 25, 2019) – Robert O’Brien died in a pedestrian accident on Anaheim Street on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue just after 10:35 AM.
Based on a report, the 55-year-old victim walked westbound on the south sidewalk. After that, O’Brien stepped into traffic and a big rig hit him. Officers found him lying in the roadway and the big rig stopped along the curb.
Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The driver was properly licensed and cooperated with investigators. However, police did not release any additional information, as officials continue to investigate the incident.
