Deadly Motorcycle Crash on Highway 9 in Felton
FELTON, CA (September 24, 2019) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning in Felton, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Highway 9 south of Glengarry Road, near Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
CHP officials said the man was riding his 2007 KMT 950 motorcycle southbound on the highway. For unknown reasons, he went off the road while making a turn and hit a dirt embankment.
Bystanders stopped and tried to provide aid until medical personnel arrived, according to the CHP.
Sadly, the rider died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Robert Maruska, 66, of Felton.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the CHP.
