Robert John Bassett Dies in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Alma School Road in Chandler

Chandler, AZ (February 19, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, 39-year-old Robert John Bassett died in a crash on Alma School Road and Elliot Road.

The fatal crash in Chandler happened at around 12:40 a.m. on February 19.

Police said Bassett was crossing mid-block near Alma School and Elliot roads when he was struck.

Bassett died at the crash scene. The driver of the car stayed at the scene. 

Police said the driver did not show any signs of impairment and speed was not a factor in the crash.

No other information is immediately available. Further investigation is ongoing.
