1 Dead in Phoenix Pedestrian Crash near 25th Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (November 27, 2019) – A 75-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash near 25th Avenue on November 24.
The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. near 25th Avenue and Greenway Road.
The police revealed that 75-year-old Robert T. Joey crossed the road when he got hit by a 26-year-old man driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta sedan.
Responders took Robert Joey to a local hospital where he later died. The police added that Joey’s family reported him missing before the crash. They last saw him walking away from Christown Mall.
Meanwhile, the Volkswagen driver said that he noticed Robert Joey on the road but couldn’t stop or avoid him in time.
The driver stayed at the scene and officers found out that he didn’t suffer from impairment. Police also ruled out speed as a factor in the crash.
