Robert Ferguson Dead in Moreno Valley Car Accident on 215 Freeway
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 24, 2019) – A 36-year-old semi-truck driver died in a collision with a car on 215 Freeway on June 20.
The incident occurred around 8:22 p.m., on the southbound 215 Freeway just north of Cactus Avenue. According to the CHP, a 2004 black Tahoe drove at a high speed in and out of lanes on the southbound 215 Freeway.
As the Tahoe approached slower traffic and turned right, it crashed with the 2019 Freightliner truck tractor and trailer. After that, the truck overturned and came to a rest on the guardrail.
Robert Ferguson of Highland, the truck driver, died at the scene.
However, the Tahoe driver escaped the scene in another vehicle.
“It appears he got a ride from an unknown motorist,” CHP spokesman Juan Quintero stated.
Police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time. In addition, authorities urged anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the CHP Riverside Office at 951-637-8000.
