Robert Alman Injured after Hit by Red Bluff Train
RED BLUFF, CA (April 6, 2019) – A male pedestrian was hospitalized following a train accident in the area of 5 Freeway and South Main Street Tuesday night.
Dispatchers received calls about the collision around 6:15 p.m. First responders arrived to the area soon after.
55-year-old Robert Peter Alman was located by officers on the east side of the tracks near Shasta College.
To begin, he was immediately taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, and later transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Moreover, Alman was listed in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.
Reports also indicate that a man called the Tehama County Mental Health Crisis Unit around 4:45 p.m. A welfare check was also requested on a man making suicidal statements on the train tracks in the area of Monroe Street. However, police did not confirm whether the two incidents were connected.
The surrounding area was closed while crews worked to clean and finalize preliminary duties. The investigation is still currently ongoing to eventually determine further details.
