70-Year-Old San Bernardino Man Killed in Accident on Highway 259
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (April 2, 2018) – On Monday evening, a 70-year-old man was killed in car accident on the intersection of F Street and Highway 259.
According to California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Coroner’s reports, the incident occurred just before 10:30 PM. Robert Allen Crompton of San Bernardino was driving a 2008 Jeep Patriot westbound on North F St approaching the 259 Freeway on-ramp, when he lost control of his vehicle.
Thr Jeep slid across the westbound, was struck by a 2015 Kia, and overturned onto its side. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced Crompton dead. The Kia driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials. It is unclear whether or not the other driver sustained injuries in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident. No other information has been released at this time.
