Robert A Winstead Killed in Accident with Truck on Sierra Avenue in Fontana

25-Year-Old Moreno Valley Man Fatally Injured in Crash on Sierra Avenue near Slover Avenue

FONTANA, CA (February 26, 2018) – A 25-year-old Moreno Valley man was killed in an accident with a large truck on Monday morning, on Sierra Avenue just south of Slover Avenue.

Around 5 AM, Robert A Winstead was traveling north on Sierra in a grey 2005 Acura, when he crashed into the back of a large truck that was stopped in the northbound lanes. The truck was waiting to make a turn onto Slover Ave.

Winstead suffered major injuries and was transported to the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Fontana. He died around 6:36 AM, according to San Bernardino County Coroner and Fontana Police. The woman sitting passenger in the Acure was not injured in the accident.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident. No other information has been provided at this time.
