Man Robbed and Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Bianchi Road
STOCKTON, CA (October 2, 2018) – A man was killed early Tuesday morning following a pedestrian crash on West Lane. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call about a robbery outside a bar in the 4200 block of West Lane, at about 1:00 AM. Around the same time, Stockton Police also received a call that reported a pedestrian collision near Bianchi Road.
In the subsequent investigation, deputies learned that the pedestrian struck by a vehicle was also the victim in the robbery. Authorities added that the victim may have grabbed onto the robbers’ car as it fled the area. As a result, the man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the suspects and to identify other possible contributing factors. Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
