Vehicle Catches Fire in Hit-and-Run Collision near 15 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 10, 2018) – The road was closed after a hit-and-run crash on eastbound Highway 94, Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 6:41 AM, near northbound 15 Freeway. Based on their report, one vehicle was overturned and another caught fire and was partially down in an embankment. One person reportedly left the scene after the incident. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s wearing a black shirt, shorts and a backpack.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. Fortunately, no injury was sustained by the involved motorists.
CHP officers shut down the transition road while clearing and recovery operations were performed in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident to help identify the possible contributing factors. Additional information has yet to be released.
