Early Morning 2-Vehicle Wreck on 215 Freeway in Riverside Kills One Motorist and Injures Another
RIVERSIDE, CA (January 14, 2019) – One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision early Monday morning in Riverside, authorities said.
The crash happened around 2:43 am. on southbound 215 Freeway, just North of Central Avenue.
According to an initial report, a maroon Nissan Altima and a pickup truck collided, causing the pickup truck to overturn on its side.
The driver of the Nissan sedan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck’s driver was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The compact sedan had major damage and was towed away from the wreckage.
CHP officials issued a SigAlert in the area, blocking the southbound lanes of 215 Freeway and the Martin Luther King Boulevard on-ramp for the investigation and cleanup.
