BRYAN, TX (July 18, 2023) – Saturday, authorities arrested Riley Smith after a disastrous DUI crash on Villa Maria Road and Willborn Road.

The crash happened at 2:00 a.m. on Villa Maria Road and Willborn Road, near Midtown Park.

According to the Bryan Police Department, 20-year-old Smith from Calvert drove a pickup truck. However, he crashed into the concrete wall of the overpass.

The officer confirmed that due to intoxication, “he thought he was at his house instead of the side of the road.”

As a result of the crash, an 18-year-old backseat passenger suffered a broken neck and a concussion.

Meanwhile, Smith, who was also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, posted bonds totaling 15,000 dollars and is now out of jail.
