Anibel Lopez Arrested in Turlock DUI Crash Injuring Rigoberto Salas-Torres

 
Turlock, CA (May 16, 2021) – On Saturday, 49-year-old Rigoberto Salas-Torres was injured and police arrested 31-year-old Anibel Lopez of Turlock, in a DUI crash on Geer Road.
 
The accident occurred about 11:50 p.m. south of Santa Fe Avenue, between Hughson and Turlock.
 
Apparently, Lopez was southbound on Geer in a Honda sedan when he swerved into the opposite lane.
 
Afterward, he struck a northbound GMC SUV driven by Salas-Torres.
 
Lopez initially was unresponsive. He was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of abdominal lacerations, a fractured pelvis, and a broken ankle.
 
Meanwhile, rescuers also took Salas-Torres to Doctors Medical Center. He sustained a broken femur and lacerations to his face.
 
Finally, officers placed Lopez under arrest but released him to the custody of the hospital.
