One Dead after Palm Desert Bicycle Crash on Dinah Shore Drive
PALM DESERT, CA (July 12, 2019) — A rider died following a bicycle accident on Dinah Shore Drive and Monterey Avenue.
According to authorities, the bicyclist struck a concrete pole in a Rancho Mirage parking lot on Wednesday, June 10.
Deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of a downed cyclist. They discovered the male rider who was in need of medical aid. Emergency responders transported him to a hospital where he died.
Investigators determined that the biker traveled east on Dinah Shore. After that, he veered off the roadway into an adjacent parking lot and then crashed into the pole, deputies stated.
The victim’s identification was withheld pending notification of his loved ones.
