Rider Killed, Another Hurt in Redondo Beach Motorcycle Crash on Aviation Boulevard
REDONDO BEACH, CA (November 13, 2019) — A motorcyclist died in a motorcycle crash on 1700 block Aviation Boulevard on Saturday, November 9.
According to Lt. Shawn Freeman of the Redondo Beach Police Department, the accident happened at Aviation Boulevard, south of Artesia Boulevard at around 12:05 a.m.
Initial investigation determined that both riders traveled southbound on Aviation Boulevard. Then, according to witnesses, one of the motorcyclists possibly struck a curb, then collided into the other rider, Freeman said.
Both motorcyclists suffered significant injuries as a result of the crash. As a result, paramedics brought both to a hospital, where one of the riders died, Freeman stated.
The motorcyclist transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance succumbed to his injuries at 12:39 a.m., the coroner’s office said.
His identity was withheld pending notification of next of loved ones.
The cause of the incident was under investigation.
