Rick Mueller of Germany Dies in US 175 Hit-and-Run Crash [Gun Barrel City, TX]

Gun Barrel City, TX (August 21, 2024) – Rick Mueller, 30, of Germany, was killed in a US 175 hit-and-run crash.

It was about 4:09 p.m. when the fatal crash happened at Highway 334 overpass.

The authorities said a medium sized semi-truck had struck Rick Mueller and continued driving east.

Sadly, the bicyclist was killed in the collision.

Rick Mueller had a journal with him noting his travels in the states. His last entry on the journal was his visit to Dallas.

Moreover, it has been said that the truck transferred red paint onto Mueller’s bicycle. It was seen hauling two shipping containers. 

The authorities are asking anyone with details about the identity of the driver or the location of the truck to call the Gun Barrel City Police Department at 903-887-7151 ext. 1.
