Cynthia Lizbeth Ayala Charged for Fatal Anaheim Accident That left Richard Zuniga Dead
ANAHEIM, CA (May 5, 2021) – In May, three men died in a hit-and-run crash on Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue.
According to Sgt. Shane Carringer of the Anaheim Police Department, the accident happened at around 2:50 a.m.
Moreover, it occurred at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue.
When authorities arrived, they found an abandoned white Mercedes-Benz and a black Kia involved.
They also reported that they found the Mercedes engulfed in flames.
The authorities confirmed that the Anaheim crash involved both vehicles.
Furthermore, paramedics pronounced the three men inside the Kia dead at the scene.
Authorities believe that the female driver of the Mercedes and her two passengers fled. Apparently, a “good Samaritan” took the suspects of the Mercedes to a local hospital.
Thus, police are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run. It will be classified as such until the relationship and motive of the “good Samaritan” and the two women can be determined.
Witnesses say the women appeared disoriented. According to those accounts, bystanders had to help get them out of the fiery Mercedes.
Authorities believe the Kia was exiting a parking lot onto Orange prior to the collision. Regardless, the official cause is yet to be determined.
Also, the accident closed Brookhurst Street between Orange Avenue and Broadway.
Later reports identified the three deceased men of this Brookhurst street accident. Jacob Rolon, 32, of La Mirada, Alexander Smiller, 63, of Los Angeles, and Richard Zuniga, 36, of Anaheim all occupied the Kia at the time of the crash.
Later reports revealed that authorities charged Cynthia Lizbeth Ayala for the fatal DUI accident. Among her charges include three counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
During this tragic time, we would like to send our sincere sympathies to the bereaved family and friends of the victims.
