Motorcyclist Killed and Driver Arrested after Suspected DUI Crash near Interstate 405
RENTON, WA (August 3, 2019) – Authorities identified 64-year-old Richard Parish as the motorcyclist killed in a suspected DUI crash near Interstate 405, early Saturday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at 2431 Maple Valley Highway, at about 12:15 AM. Parish was traveling along the highway when a sedan struck him near Carco Theatre and Classics Sports Bar.
Unfortunately, Parish succumbed to multiple blunt injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, authorities arrested the 34-year-old sedan driver on a vehicular homicide charge and suspicion of DUI. They booked him into King County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
The WSP continues to investigate the fatal collision. Investigators will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
