Richard Lorge Killed, Bronson White Dies after Hospitalization in Car Accident on Highway 62
Joshua Tree, CA (UPDATE) – On Wednesday, 77-year-old Richard Lorge of Twentynine Palms died in a 2-car crash on Highway 62.
Reports later confirmed the second driver, Bronson White, also succumbed to his injuries as of Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the tragic crash occurred at about 10:43 a.m., on July 29, wherein 62-year-old Bronson White, also of Twentynine Palms, was critically injured.
CHP said a 2003 Ford Thunderbird driven by White was traveling westbound on the highway. It drifted onto the northbound shoulder just west of California Avenue.
When he steered his car to the left, it spun across all the lanes. As a result, it struck a Toyota pickup truck traveling eastbound, which was driven by Lorge.
Finally, both vehicles stopped in the number 2 lane on the southbound shoulder of the highway.
Immediately, firefighters from Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and Yucca Mesa arrived at the scene and extricated Lorge, who remained trapped in the wreckage.
Paramedics transported Lorge to Hi-Desert Medical Center and later flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He died at 12:01 p.m. the same day.
Moreover, paramedics also took White to Hi-Desert Medical Center with severe injuries.
Police continue to investigate the crash, but they said both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Coping With Fatal Crash
Unfortunately, in today’s climate unexpected death is everpresent. As the loved ones of the victim grieve, it is also important to recognize that if your family loses a member in an accident, you may recover damages through a wrongful death suit.
A wrongful death lawsuit gives the loved ones of a departed family member some semblance of justice.
“The aftermath of tragic accidents can make everything difficult for a family. The last thing most families want to deal with is piles of paperwork, questions from insurance companies or defense attorneys, and attempting to obtain police reports. Grieving and handling legal claims don’t exactly go hand in hand, and this is why hiring an experienced attorney can provide you with peace of mind that you have a fighter in your corner, as well as ensure your rights are respected and that justice is served. Having legal representation after such a traumatic event will provide your family the space to heal, while your lawyer works to vindicate your loved one,” says Mark Sweet, a seasoned attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
