1 Injured in Palm Springs Auto Accident on 10 Freeway
PALM SPRINGS, CA (May 11, 2020) – Friday afternoon, Richard Hamilton led a high-speed chase that ended with a crash on 10 Freeway.
According to the authorities, the 34-year-old carjacking suspect Richard Hamilton led the Palm Springs police on a high-speed surface street and freeway pursuit.
Richard Hamilton drove into the 10 Freeway and went in the wrong direction. As a result, he crashed head-on with another car.
The Palm Springs Police Department later noted that the incident occurred at 3:20 p.m.
The police also added that the officers tried to stop the suspect from driving recklessly. However, he fled, the pursuit commencing north on Indian Canyon Drive toward the 10 Freeway. They also confirmed that a vehicle was hit during the pursuit on the 10 Freeway.
Fortunately, the occupants of the said vehicle remained safe.

When the medical responders arrived, they took Hamilton to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The police revealed that Richard Hamilton sustained injuries in the second crash and was detained at the scene.
