Sacramento Police Searching Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash near 26th Avenue
Sacramento, CA (March 20, 2023) On Sunday morning, 52-year-old Richard Cortez of Glendale died after a hit-and-run crash on Franklin Boulevard.
According to the Sacramento PD, the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed the 52-year-old pedestrian happened at around 6 a.m. near 26th Avenue.
Reports say that a vehicle fatally struck Cortez and fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
First responders found Cortez with serious life-threatening injuries and rushed him to the hospital. However, Cortez later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the fatal hit-and-run and have not released additional information at this time.
