San Ramon Man Dies in 2-Car Crash on 680 Freeway at North Main Street
WALNUT CREEK, CA (May 27, 2019) – A man was killed following a two-car crash Monday just before noon in Walnut Creek, authorities said
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Richard Adeokun, 63, of San Ramon.
Adeokun was driving a black 1974 Porsche that collided with a Jeep on northbound 680 Freeway at North Main Street off-ramp around 11:53 a.m.
He was found unresponsive inside his car and transported to John Muir Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Two people in the Jeep suffered minor injuries but neither was hospitalized, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three lanes of 680 Freeway were shut down prompting a SigAlert. All lanes were reopened at 2:00 p.m.
Information about the cause of the crash was not immediately available Wednesday morning, but drugs and alcohol were not being ruled out as contributing factors.
